Science Media Workshop

Overview

Istituto Mendel

Science Media Workshop Science Media Workshop is the name of the course in genetics reserved to journalists that Errepi Comunicazione developed to provide greater awareness into the scientific issues currently subjected to the greatest coverage by the mass media: cloning, genome mapping, the genetics/ageing ratio, stem cell research, genetic testing, and more. The first edition of the course was held in Rome in collaboration with Professor Bruno Dallapiccola at the Mendel Institute headquarters, and focused on how television, daily newspapers and periodicals represent the leading channels of science information for the public. All these considerations mirror the need to provide proper, clear and complete information on the possibilities for application, the sectors of activity involved, and the latest techniques in scientific research in continuous evolution.
