Overview

Industria Farmaceutica Serono

The Serono Literary Prizes Errepi Comunicazione has been organising the SERONO LITERARY PRIZES on behalf of the Serono Biotechnology Academy since 2002 with the objective of increasing awareness of Biotechnology culture not only among the specialised scientific community but also in the public at large not associated with the medical-scientific world. Competition is divided into three distinct branches: published fiction, unpublished works, and published scientific essays, with the latter category dedicated to physicians, students and research workers. The task of examining and judging the works every year is assigned to an exceptional jury chaired by university professors and journalists. The main purpose of the Serono Literary Prize is the utilisation of the various forms of fiction and non-fiction as an instrument for the popularisation of the many aspects of Biotechnology being persuaded that literature can provide a valid support to the development of science. The contest is open to writers of fiction in the Italian language who address the theme of “Biotechnology in the medical-scientific field “and scientific essays by Italian authors writing in Italian who dedicate their work to the same subject.
